Subject: Hugs

Thanks Erin, and all the others, for the hugs you've sent in response to my
grumpy quilt shop owner's comment. To sum up what what it seems we all
She doesn't understand what quilting is REALLY all about!!! What a wonderful
bunch of cyber-friends I have.
For the person starting the round robin- I saw a really neat article in QNM
(I think) that featured a round robin.. They made sure that everyone had the
same skill level, then they outlined some requirements for each "leg" of the
RR. Obviously, each participant made her center square, and she forwarded it
to the next person along with maybe a half yard of the inspiration fabric if
there was one. The receiving person put on whatever border (I guess it would
help if I mentioned that these were for medallion quilts) was called for
next. The steps were roughly outlined something like this: 1st border-
applique 2nd border- geometric 3rd border - curves etc. Each person's
idea determined whether they were narrow or wide, what kind of geometric or
applique' etc. There was no set size other than it was to be a wall hanging.
The article showed the finished products and they were magnificent!!! I
wish I could give you a better idea where the article was but it's probably
somewhere in my quilting stuff and that will take quite a while to sift
through. Hope it helps.

Subject: Re: Kaffee-Katsch for 10/12/1999 - Vacation Alert

I am a university professor and am writing this from my office. This moring
as I tried to do my work, a quilt in progress kept calling to me. I would
real rather be quilting.than working. I am about to go home for my lunch
hour and spend it sewing. Does anyone else have this problem?
